An Amish buggy hit a utility pole on Forest Street in Deerfield this morning -- causing a second accident in Utica.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says the tongue connecting the horse and buggy became detached.

They say the horses became spooked and the buggy began to slide on the snow covered road. The buggy then left the road and hit the utility pole.

Deputies say the horses continued to run down Forest Street onto River Road in Utica, causing a separate motor vehicle accident.

There were four occupants on the buggy, two suffered minor injuries.
