Herkimer, NY (WIBX) - Their work is continuing but authorities say they expect to conclude the investigation into the shooting death of Proctor High School teacher Catherine Koestner soon.

In an interview with WIBX, Herkimer County District Attorney Jeffrey Carpenter says he met with the New York State Police Major Crimes Division, the Forensic Investigation Unit, and the Bureau of Investigation twice last week.   The last meeting took place on Friday.  He said they expect to make an announcement soon.

Carpenter reiterated the importance of notifying Koestner's family in the crime team's findings and he said that trumps the public's interest in the case.

Although a statement on the case is forthcoming, Carpenter would not specify whether an arrest would be made.
