Annsville, NY (WIBX) - According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, a 41-year old Annsville man was taken into custody after an 8-hour standoff  at the man's home.

Oneida County Sheriff Rob Maciol say members of the Sheriff's Department went to Daniel Bragg's residence to execute an Arrest Warrant on Bragg and when they showed up, they say Bragg retreated into his home, refusing to surrender.

Authorities on the scene say the home's other occupants fled the residence and told the officers outside that Bragg was hiding inside the home and that he was in possession of an assault rifle. For nearly 5 hours, negotiators attempted to make contact with Bragg, those attempts were unsuccessful.

Shortly after 8:15 last night, members of the New York State Police entered the home and found the 41-year old man hiding in the basement, Bragg was taken into custody by State Police and turned over to the Sheriff's Office.

Bragg was arraigned in the Town of Annsville Court on the charges of Menacing in the 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the warrant that brought them to the residence was in regard to  charges stemming from a domestic dispute between Bragg and the mother of his child, which took place the previous evening at that same residence.

According to the Sheriff, Bragg is being held at the Oneida County Correctional Facility on $100,000 Cash Bail, or $200,000 Bond and is scheduled to return to Court at a later date.
