Anonymous Letter Suggests Roefaro Write-In Campaign

Utica, NY (WIBX) - An anonymous letter claiming to be written by a member of the city Republican committee has surfaced, addressing plans for a write-in campaign.

The letter establishes firm support for Utica's current mayor, David Roefaro.

Roefaro says he's humbled by the sentiment, but that Utica must continue moving forward.

"It's always about more than one person," Roefaro said. "And we've done a lot in four years, probably more than any mayor has done in forty years. And we're proud of that, make no mistake. But, it's more than just me, you know. You've got to be able to pass the ball and that's just what I did to Rob. And I know that Rob will continue it."

Roefaro is not seeking election and does not want Utica residents to vote for him.
