Another new business is coming to downtown Utica.

Mayor Robert Palmieri says the city has sold the former Rite Aid building at 167 Genesee Street to local developers Tony and Frank Cristiano.

The Cristianos, who own Tony's AUDelicious behind the Utica Auditorium, plan to open a New York City-style deli on the ground floor of the building. Future plans include using the upper floors as residential and commercial space.

Frank Cristiano says the hope to have the deli open in six to eight months.

Palmireri says the city has sold 10 commercial properties to private developers in the past four years. That includes seven in the downtown area.
