Oneida Executive Anthony Picente has been elected to serve as President of the New York State County Executives Association.
The group is a bipartisan association made up of several county executives across New York State.

The Association met last week in Albany to discuss critical issues that affect the state.

These issues include the 2014 state legislative session and the 2014-2015 state budget as well as home rule authority, tax reform, and the affordable care act.

"Anthony Picente has a deep understanding of the role of county government and its capacity to serve the residents of New York State," said Stephen J. Acquario, executive director, NYS Association of Counties. "He has devoted his talents to implementing best practices for Oneida County government and now can share this experience with other county leaders as President. His leadership will be instrumental towards addressing the challenges facing these regional governments."

Picente will serve as President until December 2014.
