It's being called the largest anti-fracking rallies ever in New York State.

Thousands of New Yorkers from all over the state are rallying outside the Capitol building in Albany today to try and convince Governor Andrew Cuomo to permanently ban hydrofracking.

Organizers are calling on Cuomo to find renewable energy alternatives.

Those against fracking say the process will endanger the environment around the state.

The practice uses chemicals to drill into rocks below the earth to get natural gas.

The rally is set for noon to 3:00.
