Area municipalities will share a portion of the $65 million in state funding made available to help defray costs from damage caused by Winter Storm Stella.

Senator Joseph Griffo and Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi made the announcement today.

Utica will get $195,000 and Rome will receive $138,00.

Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri said: “The response to Winter Storm Stella truly brought out the best in our community as resources and personnel from the State, County and local municipalities came together to ensure the safety of our residents.  I commend and thank Senator Griffo and Assemblyman Brindisi for once again delivering for Utica as their tireless advocacy in securing this additional funding is a tremendous help.”

Town and Villages throughout the area will also share in the allocation.
