An early morning fire in South Utica has put out three adults.

According to the Utica Fire Department, a passerby noticed smoke and fire coming from the roof of the structure on Arlington Road.

As fire officials arrived, they too reported smoke and flames coming from the attic area of the house.

16 firefighters then began working to contain the fire to the attic and salvage the floors below from water damage.

No injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing.
