Arrest Made In Herkimer County Hit And Run

An arrest has been made in connection with a March 18th hit and run on Route 20 in the Town of Warren.

State Police charged 30-year old Douglas Deraway of Richfield Springs with assault and reckless endangerment after Deraway turned himself in on Wednesday morning.

Troopers say Deraway hit 59-year old Francis Crist with his vehicle and then fled the scene.  They say Crist had stopped to speak with Deraway, who had been tailgating him.

Crist suffered multiple facial fractures in the incident.
