ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — An artifact from the 9/11 attacks 15 years ago has been given to Albany International Airport and will be put on permanent display.

The artifact is a piece of steel from the ruins of the twin towers of the World Trade Center, which were destroyed on Sept. 11, 2001. The Transportation Security Administration at Albany International Airport will be conducting an unveiling and dedication ceremony on Thursday morning.

The artifact will be placed on the uppermost floor of the airport next to the Military Courtesy Room, which overlooks the TSA checkpoint.
