The newest State budget will include and additional 40 million dollars for the Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program - or CHIPS.

"I strongly advocated for this funding to help fix dangerous potholes in need of repair," Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi said. "I'm happy the funds were included in this year's budget to help repair our roads and keep our families safe."

The funds will help municipalities repair damages to roads and bridges caused by the harsh winter weather.

Oneida and Herkimer Counties will both get more than 335 thousand dollars extra to assist with winter recovery repairs.
