Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi's Youth Advisory Panel meets every couple of months to discuss issues concerning high school juniors and seniors.

Brindisi says the Assembly works on a lot of legislation that deals with the youth and it's always good from his point of view to get their perspective on some of the issues and some of the bills that are ultimately going to impact them.

Jacob Scott is a Junior at Whitesboro high school who's biggest concern is what the state is doing to prevent young people from leaving New York.

Scott says he joined the Advisory panel because he thinks it is a great way to get young people's voices heard in government, where they are often overlooked.

Brindisi says the Advisory Panel is a great place to start, because by finding out what career paths young people are looking at, the Assembly can do a better job of bringing those type of employers to the region.
