Assemblyman Anthony Brinidisi joined WIBX First News with Keeler in the Morning on Wednesday to talk about the recently completed legislative session in Albany.

Brindisi says two of the biggest accomplishments this session included:

  • Compassionate Care Act - legalizing medical marijuana
  • Tweaks to Common Core -Teacher evaluations. Teacher test scores will not impact their own evaluations. ''I disagree with the whole concept of tying the teach evaluations to these test scores,'' Brindisi said. ''You could have the best teacher in the world in a high needs district who does everything they need to do, and for some reason the students are performing. On the other end you could have the worst teacher with very high performing students because they have the support system at home or whatever...and that teacher is gonna look great,'' he said.

Brindisi also explained why the Woman's Equality Act failed and commented on this week's GOP primary for NY's 22nd district congressional seat.
