Bradley Manning, sentenced to thirty-five years in prison for releasing documents to the anti-secrecy website WikiLeaks, is a woman, so says her attorney.

In a written statement read on NBC's Today Show, Manning's attorney, David Coombs, spoke on behalf of the demoted Army private, stating, "I am Chelsea Manning.  I am a female."
