Normally, using a credit card online isn't an issue. But, problems arise when it isn't your card.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division says Tanner Smith, 17, of Augusta, is charged with Grand Larceny after he allegedly stole his father's Discover card.

Officials say Smith broke into a locked room in the basement of his home and took the card, which he then used on an online gaming site and to purchase more than $3,700 in items.

He was arraigned in the Town of Augusta Court and released on his own recognizance.
