High School Runner Carries Fallen Competitor Across the Finish Line

West Liberty Salem high school runner Meghan Vogel wasn’t going to win the Ohio D-III 3,200-meter state finals, which was held last weekend. In fact, the junior, who had already won the 1,600 meter, was in last place with about 20 feet to go.

That’s when she noticed that one of her competitors, sophomore Arden McMath, had collapsed and fallen in front of her. Rules state that anyone who aids another runner will be disqualified. But Vogel decided this wasn’t the time to follow the rules.

New York City to Ban Large Soft Drinks – Is Your City Next?

By this time next year, residents of New York City won’t be able to buy an absurdly large and absurdly overpriced cup of soda to go alongside their absurdly large and absurdly overpriced vat of popcorn when they are enjoying a movie.

That’s because New York mayor Mike Bloomberg has proposed a ban — which is widely expected to be ratified by the city’s board of health — that would outlaw the sale of sugary drinks that are over 16 ounces.

Bob Saget has had an interesting career. Originally a stand-up comic known for his very vulgar material, he is most famous for playing patriarch Danny Tanner on ‘Full House,’ a family-oriented sitcom.
