I'm native of New Hartford, raised in Utica and have been involved in broadcasting since 1967 in a number of on and off air capacities. For the past 25-plus years I have hosted and co-hosted the morning show on WFRG (Big Frog 104).Married with one daughter my hobbies include golfing. travel, history, reading, going to the gym, movies and music. We have 2 cats, Fenway and Parker so you can probably guess which baseball team I follow. Sorry Yankee fans.

Polish Culture An Important Influence On Utica’s History

Having spent several of my "wonder years " growing up in West Utica I was well aware of its Polish influences. I played Little League baseball in the PLAV (Polish Legion of American Veterans), lived two doors down from the Pulaski Meat Market , grocery shopped at Tolpa's Dairy and had a paper route rife with customers of Polish extraction. Polish food and culture were apparent everywhere. With Culture Fest-A Festival of Nations-right around the corner let's take a look at the area's Polish influences.

Cooperstown Brewery Ommegang Partnering With HBO’s “Game of Thrones”

HBO's "Game of Thrones" is a critically acclaimed hit and Cooperstown's Brewery Ommegang produces a number of critically acclaimed beers so it's only natural that the two partner up. According to their website the brewery will launch "Iron Throne", a blond ale, in connection with the shows March 31 third season debut. The partnership won't end there.

Amtrak and Greyhound Cancel Train and Bus Service Due To Hurricane Sandy

If you have travel plans on Amtrak be advised that the train service has cancelled Northeast Corridor service due to Hurricane Sandy starting at 7 this evening (Sunday) and continuing through tomorrow, Monday. Greyhound Bus has also cancelled several routes due to impending storm.

Checking Out the Fall Foliage Report

If you are a "leaf peeper" this is the time of year you live for. The changing colors of the leaves around upstate New York is a thing of beauty and  only observable for a few short weeks every autumn. This weekend my wife and I drove up Route 28 to Inlet and the colors were at peak and magnificent. If you plan to do some "leaf peeping" this might come in handy.

Utica’s Will Smith NFL Bounty Scandal Suspension Overturned

New Orleans Saint and Proctor High grad Will Smith has had his 4-game suspension overturned on appeal and will suit up tomorrow for the teams game with Washington. According to SI.com, the suspension for participating in the Saint's notorious bounty program could still be re-instated.
