Authorities Hoping Billboards Assist in Search for Dannemora Escapees

The images of two escaped convicts from New York are being broadcast across multiple states.

Lamar Advertising is donating billboard space in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania  featuring the photographs of Richard Matt and David Sweat.

State Police say the billboards will hopefully generate more awareness and leads in the case.  That awareness, officials say, will not only help keep the public safer, but assist in the capture of the two men.

Authorities are reminding the public that both escapees are convicted murderers and are considered dangerous.  Residents are warned against approaching the men and advised to call 911 immediately if they have information on the felons' whereabouts.
