A traffic stop led to the arrest of a Barneveld man after he allegedly failed to keep right.

38-Year-Old Correy S. Roberts was driving eastbound on State Route 365 near Trenton in a Chevy truck with his high beams on when New York State Police say he crossed into the westbound lane and caused a trooper travelling westbound to swerve out of the way to avoid a crash.

The trooper caught up with Roberts and smelled alcohol in the car.  He then gave Roberts a field sobriety test, which State Police say he failed.

An open can of alcohol was allegedly found in the truck and Roberts refused additional testing.

He was issued several traffic tickets including failure to dim headlights, drinking while driving, and refusal of a breath screening test.

Roberts was brought to the Oneida County Jail in lieu of $500 bail.
