Jason Bay picked up his first home run of the season on a 5-2 Mets win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday night at Citizens Bank Ballpark.

R.A. Dickey threw seven innings of one run ball, allowing nine hits and striking out seven, improving to 2-0 on the season.

Bay's opposite field blast in the first helped New York build a 3-0 lead, after Daniel Murphy's RBI double put the Mets on the board.

Phils starter Cliff Lee surrendered four runs on five hits through seven.

The Mets and Phillies play game two of the three game set on Saturday afternoon with Jonathon Niese (1-0) taking on Vance Worley (0-0).
