The I Love New York tourism campaign is spreading its reach to China to tap into the $100 billion Chinese tourism market.

A 'Becoming China Ready' workshop at the Radisson in Utica Wednesday prepared area businesses and tourism organizations to connect with visitors and understand what Chinese tourists like.

"The potential of growth in terms of numbers of people and spending by visitors over the next 5 years is greater from China than any other country," said Director of International Marketing for I Love New York Markly Wilson. "I Love New York will highlight attractions in Central New York and look to add on to a New York City vacation with the type of outdoor experiences that the Mohawk Valley has to offer"

In addition to Wednesday's workshop in Utica, one was held on Monday in Albany, and another will take place in Rochester on Friday.
