Rome, NY (WIBX) - More than 20 vendors and distributors will go to this Saturday’s 1st Annual Rome Brew Ha Ha at the Woods Valley Ski Area in Westernville.

From noon until four, attendees are invited to taste different beers from local breweries, including Saranac, Ommegang and Lake Placid.

Mark Vocca, the Brew Ha Ha’s organizer, says that the event not only brings people together, but is important to the community.

“Obviously, we have an aging population in the area,” Vocca said. “So, the more that we can provide the individuals in the area, the better it’s going to be. So, we’re really the funding arm for the hospital for whatever its needs, goals or objectives may be.”

Money raised from this year’s beer tasting will be used to purchase new equipment for Rome Memorial Hospital.

Tickets for the event are limited and are for advance sale only. The cost is $40 for a VIP ticket or $25 for a general admission ticket. Designated driver tickets are only $10.

To order tickets, call (315)-338-7181, or visit romehosp.ejoinme.org/2011brew.
