Carlos Beltran homered and drove in three, while Chase Headley came off the bench for a key hit to lead the Yankees past the White Sox 7-5 on Sunday at Yankee Stadium, taking the rubber match against a Chicago club that entered the series with the best record in the American League.

Yanks' manager Joe Girardi saw his team go 7-and-3 on the homestand, and he got some key production from both Beltran, and Headley - who notched his first two home runs of the season earlier this week, and smacked a tie-breaking, pinch hit double in the seventh inning.

Beltran's two run blast in the sixth - his fourth home run of the homestand - gave New York a 5-4 advantage. Reliever Dellin Betances (1-2) allowed Chicago to tie it in the next half-inning (his first charged blown save of the season), but Betances would go on to be credited with the win after Headley's pinch-hit and back-to-back perfect innings from Andrew Miller and Aroldis Chapman.

Starter Masahiro Tanaka had another shaky start. He's now allowed 10 ER in his last two outings (12 innings) after giving up four runs Sunday on eight hits, three walks and seven strikeouts over five innings. He's still 1-0 on the season after his seventh no decision.

The Yankees (16-20) - playing better but still in the A.L. East basement - open a series in Arizona on Monday.
