Betsy Concert Series Still Making Music

Utica, NY (WIBX) - The Betsy Concert Series will kick off its twenty-fifth straight year this week at the Erie Canal.

The Opening performance by the New York Express will be featured at this week's event.

The seventeen days of free concerts will be held every Thursday at 6:30pm under the pavilion at Lock 20 in Marcy, rain or shine.

The concert series will end on Labor Day, September 5th, with entertainment starting at 1:00pm from Irish groups and bands, followed by a fireworks extravaganza at dusk. The summer concert schedule is as follows:

• June 23 - The Big Band Sound of the New York Express
• June 30 - The Jay Karwacki Band
• July 7 - The Clef Dwellers with Don Cantwell
• July 14 - Join the Fun with Fritz's Polka Band
• July 21 - Old Country Music featuring the Nelson Brothers
• July 28 - The Trinkaus Manor Quartet
• August 4 - Johnson and Company Band
• August 5 - The Mark Bolos Band
• August 11 - The Big Band Sound of Easy Money
• August 12 - The Roots of Rock and Roll
• August 18 - Double Image
• August 19 - The No Name Band
• August 25 - Holidaye
• August 26 - Joe Angerosa (solo) in Memories of Elvis
• September 1 - The Mark Bolos Band
• September 2 - Pick 'n EZ
• September 5 - 1:00PM - Floyd Community Band, 3:00PM - Irish Day at Lock 20

All events are FREE. Bring your own blankets and/or lawn chairs.
