Big Moose Fire Company Upgrades Fire Boat

The Big Moose Fire Company, the Town of Webb and Dunn's Boat Service have made several upgrades to the first Fire Boat in Herkimer County.

The boat was put into service in 1950.

About 25% of Big Moose Lake is accessible by boat only and several of the camps are difficult to get to by road alone.

Upgrades include a new motor, new pump mounts and several LED lights for visibility.

The fire boat is in service from May through the end of October.
