Vernon, NY (WIBX) - Tiger Woods and other big name sports celebrities will be at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino to play at the 4th Notah Bogay III Foundation Challenge benefiting Native American youth living on Indian reservations.

Oneida Nation CEO and Representative Ray Halbritter says having Woods compliment the Turning Stone Golf Course and having his return to the area to take part in the event speaks highly  of the establishment.

Halbritter said, "To get him to come here is not an easy task and we're just delighted to have him back for this great cause of course. He and Notah are great friends and he shows you the kind of person he is and character he has to bring his talent, his presence to Upstate New York and we're just really blessed to have that here as well and we're fortunate we have the resources to do it."

Halbritter says last time Woods was here he said the Greens were perfect adding, "And believe you me, Tiger does not give our compliments at all, if at all. So, that was just wonderful for us to hear." Last year, the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in partnership with the Notah Begay III Foundation raised over $2.5 million for charity and Halbritter says he feels very fortunate to call Notah, who is also a Native American Representative, a friend. He says through their partnership they are able to address a very serious health issue in what he referred to as "Indian Country," childhood obesity.

Other confirmed celebrities taking part in the upcoming event include, Ricky Fowler, Tony Romo, and Sam Bradford. Halbritter says three other big name celebrities will be announced once organizers get confirmation of their participation.  For ticket information contact the Turning Stone Box Office at (315) 361-7469.
