The Buffalo Bills got awful news this week as standout linebacker Kiko Alonso was officially diagnosed with a torn ACL, meaning he's expected to miss the entire 2014 season.

In just his rookie campaign last year, Alonso led the Bills with 159 total tackles and 87 solo. In comparison, the next leading tackler on the team - Aaron Williams - had just 82 total take downs, with 60 of them solo. Alonso was also tied for the team lead with four interceptions.

Apparently the injury did not come during OTA's, rather while Alonso was working out on his own. Buffalobills.com says it was non-football related but doesn't specify what exactly he was doing:

The injury, sustained by Alonso during a personal workout in Oregon, leaves a sizable hole in Buffalo’s front seven on defense.

Again, not sure what he was doing when he suffered the injury, but one would assume it was related to preparation for the upcoming season.
