In a surprising move, the Buffalo Bills have traded linebacker Kiko Alonso to the Philadelphia Eagles for running back LeSean McCoy.

ESPN's Adam Schefter first reported the move that re-unites Alonso with his college coach at Oregon Chip Kelly, who is now the head coach for the Eagles.

Alonso is returning from an ACL injury that sidelined him for the 2014 season, but in his rookie season with the bills, Alonso had 87 tackles with 2 sacks and 4 interceptions.

McCoy had a sub-par season in 2014 with 1,319 yards and only 5 touchdowns, and some NFL insiders speculate that his diminishing performance combined with the $11.9 million cap space needed to keep him made it easy for kelly and the Eagles to make the deal.
