Billy Joe Royal Passes at the Age of 73

Singer Billy Joe Royal has died at the age of 73.Officials say he died unexpectedly at his home in North Carolina on Tuesday, October 6, 2015.

The singer, best known for his 1965 single "Down in the Boondocks," was popular as a country artist in the 1980's.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
