Binghamton Graduate/ SUNY Brockport Senior Drowns

A paid obituary says SUNY Brockport Senior, 22 year old Collin Murray died May 9 and a funeral mass will be offered at 9:30 a.m. May 15 at Saint James Church in Johnson City.

Police had been called at around 2:30 a.m. about someone jumping into the Erie Canal from a lock.  Murray was apparently with two others but the only one who entered the water.

Murray was to graduate May 16 with a grade point average of 4.0 with a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice and Political Science.

The family is requesting donations in lieu of flowers to the Collins Patrick Murray Lacrosse Scholarship Fund for graduating seniors a Binghamton High School c/o Visions Federal Credit Union, 4700 Vestal Parkway East, Vestal, NY 13850.
