A pair of signs warning against littering that featured the line "Make America Great" have been removed from a city of Binghamton street.

Someone recently installed the signs with a variant of Donald Trump's "Make America Great Again" slogan on Pennsylvania Avenue on the South Side.

WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program Tuesday morning.

David said they weren't "city signs" and said he'd look into the matter.

A few minutes later, Deputy Mayor Jared Kraham wrote on Twitter: "We don't know who put them up." The tweet indicated they would be "removed shortly."

A few minutes after noon, a city public works crew removed the two metal signs and drove away.
