Herkimer County, NY (WIBX) - The woman accused of running down a 74-year-old man, using the victim's car, supposedly at his request, has been sentenced to serve 16-years in prison. The suspect, 29-year-old Jennifer Riesel reached a deal with prosecutors, and pleaded guilty to Attempted Murder.

The bizarre case involved the promise of $180,000., if Riesel ended the life of Francis Nelson of Little Falls, who was supposedly suffering from a terminal illness. The woman told investigators that she agreed to kill the victim in exchange for the payment, which she would receive by being named as the beneficiary of his life insurance policy. Riesel committed the crime last year on September 27th.

The 16-year sentence handed down in Herkimer County Court today is in addition to the 4 year prison sentence Riesel was already serving for Grand Larceny.
