New Hartford, NY (WIBX) - Shoppers have been out if full-force since last night, according the General Manager at the Best Buy in Consumer Square.  The store's midnight sale had people lined up 4-wide, the line outside the store stretching nearly 200 yards.

The Manager says in his 35-years of retail experience, he has never opened the doors at Midnight before.

Yorkville resident Mallissa Corey started shopping last night at around 9 o'clock, she picked up a variety of items including  a foam mattress pad, clothing, luggage and later tonight she plans on buying new tires from a Goodyear distributor.  Corey says with stores opening earlier and earlier, it doesn't feel like Black Friday. "If it starts on Thanksgiving day, then it can't be called Black Friday", said the 24-year old, adding  "I think it was fine starting at 5 or 6 o'clock in the morning."

New Hartford residents Eve Vandiwall and her daughter didn't brave the midnight rush, but rather began there shopping experience this morning. "I got a bunch of stuff, x-box games, headset...stocking stuffers, expensive stocking stuffers. We started out at 5 o'clock, which is late. We haven't hit any lines or anything so far", said Vandiwall.

According to the National Retailers association, some 152 million shoppers will be hitting stores this Black Friday weekend.
