Marcy, NY (WIBX) - If you hear something loud while in Marcy this afternoon, it's only the sound of helicopters flying overhead.
This afternoon at around 3:30, Blackhawk helicopters, operated by the New York Army National Guard, will be flying over the area as part of a training exercise. Today's training will be performed by helicopters from Company F, 1-169th General Support Aviation Battalion, in Rochester, NY.

These helicopters provide medical assistance while transporting injured people to their destinations, and will be practicing new skills to work better with the state's National Guard and local communities.

Training is being done in conjunction with the Army Reserve's 401st Civil Affairs Battalion in Webster and the Maynard and Stittville Volunteer Fire Departments.
