Brandon Morrow (5-2) tossed a three-hit, complete game shutout for his fifth win in six starts leading the Blue Jays by the Mets 2-0 in Toronto on Saturday afternoon.

The Mets tried a rally in the ninth that was cut short due to a questionable call.

Mike Baxter's one out single sent Scott Hairston, who led off the inning with a walk, to third. Baxter tried stretching his hit to a double, and appeared to make it safely, but was called out.

New York starter Miguel Batista left after just two innings with back soreness. Jeremy Hefner, called up to the bigs before the game, came into relieve. He suffered the loss after allowing four hits and two runs in five innings.

Toronto's runs came in the fifth on RBI hits from Kelly Johnson and Yunel Escobar.

The Mets (21-19) will look to avoid a series sweep on Sunday afternoon at Rogers Centre.
