Body Found After Report of Boy Tossed Off Bridge

NEWPORT, Ore. (AP) — Police in Newport, Oregon, say a boy's body has been found after a woman earlier reported throwing her 6-year-old son off the Yaquina Bay Bridge on the coast.

Police Chief Mark Miranda said late Monday night he was headed to the scene. He says he's been told that the body recovered is believed to be that of the missing boy.

Detectives earlier were questioning the woman who made the 911 call Monday evening. Miranda had no immediate update on her status.
