NEW CASTLE, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a body found in a Westchester County preserve is believed to be that of a man missing since Monday.

The body was discovered in Glazier Preserve in New Castle on Thursday.

The Journal News reports that while authorities believe the remains belong to Miles Applebaum no definitive identification has been made.

The 21-year-old man was last seen leaving his home in Armonk in a green Volvo. Police discovered the car Wednesday in a parking lot off Whippoorwill Road near the 44-acre park.

The body was found around 6 p.m. Thursday by a state forest ranger.

Applebaum was a student at Temple University.

Police say the medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
