Utica, NY (WIBX) - The Board of Elections is hosting a Campaign Finance Seminar next week. Pam Mandryck, the Republican Commissioner of Elections for Oneida County, says the goal is to inform those running for office, or those already in office, about the state's election laws.

She said, "The whole of the Campaign Finance Seminar is to keep people out of trouble with campaign finance, and in many incidents it's just a matter of filling out a form." She says understanding election laws will help campaigns avoid hefty fines.

Attorney's needing Continuing Legal Education Credits, (CLE) can also register for the training. The seminar is taking place on Tuesday, May 8,  from 12:30 - 3:30 p.m. at the Board of Legislators Chambers on the 10th Floor of the Oneida County Office Building. Those interested in attending the free event must first reserve their spot by contacting the New York State Board of Elections, Campaign Finance Division at 1-800-458-3453, or by visiting the New York State Board of Elections website at www.elections.ny.gov.

The seminars are being presented across the state by representatives of the New York State Board of Elections Campaign Finance Division.
