Utica, NY (WIBX) - Boilermaker officials held a post-race news conference Monday morning to talk about Sunday's race.

Executive Director Tim Reed say while the race was capped at 13,00 this year, 13,272 runners actually registered for the race.

He says 225 of those runners will be deferred to next year's 15-K.

Reed says there will be a cap again next year, but that number has yet to be determined.

Registration for next year's 35th running of the Boilermaker will begin in January, at which time the 2012 logo will be unveiled.

Meanwhile, it was a good day for medical personnel.

Only 98 runners had be treated on Sunday, down from 121 last year.
