It was too hot to run the 15K, but the 5K went off without a hitch in the desert.

About one hundred troops participated in the 2014 Boilermaker Shadow Run at Camp Buehring in Kuwait.

In a written statement USO Center Manager Tiffany Banks said, "Due to the blistering heat we decided, in the interest of safety, to forgo running the 15K.  The event was a great success and enjoyed by all."

All of those who took part signed the Start / Finish Line banner that had been sent over by race officials.   Boilermaker President Tim Reed said that they are looking forward to getting the banner back and putting it on display.  "I'm hoping we can set it up to have  Post-Race party for the returning runners and give them their finisher's pins."

Seven Boilermaker Shadow Runs have taken place since 2008.  Three have taken place in Iraq, three in Afghanistan, and now one is in the books for Kuwait.
