Boilermaker Entries Near 5,000

Utica, NY (WIBX) - So far, nearly 5,000 people have signed up to take part in the 35th running of the Boilermaker.

Officials say registrations have come from 41 different states, the District of Columbia, and two different countries.

A cap of 14,00 runners has been set for the 15K race and 4,000 for the 5K.

This Thursday, from 4:00 to 7:00 organizers are holding another sign-up session at Dick's Sporting Goods at Sangertown Square Mall in New Hartford.

Registration can also be done on-line at www.boilermaker.com.

The Boilermaker will take place on Sunday, July 8th.
