Utica, NY (WIBX) - The Boilermaker registration numbers continue to climb.

11,115 runners have now signed up for the 15-K race, which has a cap of 13,000 this year.

Last year at this time, 3,924 runners were registered.

Race officials say should applications continue at their current rate, the 15-K could hit the cap in about a week.

If the race were held today, it would be the sixth largest Boilermaker in history.

Meanwhile, 1,362 runners have signed up for the 5-K, which is capped at 4,000.

The 34th running of the Boilermaker will take place on Sunday, July 10th.
