Since its inception in 2013, the Boilermaker Charity Bib program has raised over $500,000 for area non-profits.

The Boilermaker will also be conducting its second Run for U fundraising campaign during race registration after a successful inaugural campaign in 2017 which raised over $25,000 for the Boilermaker Urban Initiative.

“The 2017 campaign exceeded all of our expectations even though maybe we shouldn’t be so surprised. After all, we see it time and again, whether it’s the Teddy Bear Toss game or the Heart Run and Walk,” said Rebecca Kearns, Boilermaker Community Outreach Director, “This is just one more testament to the overwhelming heart and generosity of this community as well as the role of the Boilermaker to be a vehicle for positive change.”

While registering for the race, runners will have the option to make a donation to support the initiative.

Early-access registration for 2018 will begin at 12 p.m.on Thursday, March 8th and open registration will begin at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 17th.

The 41st running of the Boilermaker Road Race will take place on Sunday, July 8th,
