Boilermaker Transfers Begin Today

Utica, NY (WIBX) - If you're one of the lucky ones who got an entry for the Boilermaker but you can't run this year, you can now legally transfer your race number to someone else.

Beginning today for $10 you can register on active.com and try to opt-in or opt-out of the race.

It's the first time in history this has been done. Race Director Jim Stasaitis says that the unprecedented early sellout of both the 5K and 15K this year created a situation where "many runners found themselves on the outside looking in."

He says they're hoping this works out well and are encouraging runners to use the online sites available, but warns that the Boilermaker will not get involved with any transactions between runners.
