A Boonville man is facing several charges after a suspicious activity complaint led the Oneida County Sheriff's Office to an alleged marijuana growing operation.

According to Sheriff Rob Maciol, a deputy arrived at a residence on Hawkinsville Road in Boonville and interviewed the homeowner, 45-year-old Michael Salmon Jr.

The deputy determined that Salmon Jr. and another man, 58-year-old Scott Weaver, were in the process of harvesting and processing marijuana that had been growing in the home. A large amount of dried, packaged marijuana for sale was also discovered.

During the course of the investigation and search of the home 3 illegal handguns were found in Salmon's possession. He was charged with Felony Criminal Possession of a Firearm and other charges are pending.
