Boonville Man Killed in Apparent Logging Accident in Vienna

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a Boonville man in the Town of Vienna.

Deputies responded to the scene of an apparent logging accident on Elpis Road on Thursday after a report of an unresponsive male.

72-year-old Gilbert Martin was extricated from the wooded area by members of the Camden Fire Department and was transported to Rome Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The investigation is ongoing.
