BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Police say a 4-year-old boy has died after he was hit by a vehicle when he ran into a Buffalo street.

Officers say the accident occurred around 7:20 p.m. Tuesday on Sycamore Street on the city's east side. Police say it appears the boy ran into the street and was hit by a passing vehicle.

The boy was taken to Women and Children's Hospital. Police confirm Wednesday morning that the child died at the hospital.

Police haven't released the boy's name.

Police say the 22-year-old man who was driving the vehicle is cooperated in the investigation and isn't facing charges at this time.
