A Central New Yorker is the winner of a 2014 ESPY award.

Breanna Stewart, a graduate of Cicero-North Syracuse High School, is a member of the University of Connecticut Huskies' women's basketball team.

She has won two national championships with the team, and has been named the most outstanding player in the Final Four twice.  And on Wednesday night "Stewie," as she is known by her teammates, was christened the Best Female College Athlete by ESPN.

Stewart, who was also nominated for best female athlete overall, will be a junior this fall.
