Utica, NY (WIBX) - It was a night to remember for the Utica Brewers, as they played an exhibition game against the visiting U.S. Military All-Stars, who are currently in the middle of their "Red, White and Blue" Tour.

Prior to the game's start, nearly 400 fans watched from the grandstand, as members of the military presented an American flag to the family of Joseph Andrew, a serviceman killed in action.

The game began well for the Brewers (4-5), as they put up two runs in the first inning against the All-Stars. But, by the end of the fifth inning, Utica was looking at a 3-2 deficit, as their bats went silent.

The All-Stars padded their lead even more in the later innings, hitting a three-run homer in the 7th and scoring two more runs in the eighth, giving them an 8-2 edge heading into the bottom of the inning.

That's when the Brewers' bats came alive, driving in four runs and tightening up the game. The burst didn't carry into the ninth, though, as Utica's batters were stymied. Final score: U.S. Military All Stars, 8; Utica, 6.

Tonight, the Brewers take on the Sherrill Silversmiths (4-5) at Donovan Stadium, and in honor of Father's Day, all dads will receive free admission. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
